- A high quality stand Review by Steven All my reviews (1)

bought for my new Samsung 55" 3DTV and Home Theatre. Easy to put together move around. Plenty of space for all the peripherals although I found the holes made for the wiring to be a little too high above the shelves. Other than that everything placed nicly on the shelves with plenty of space for cooling of the equipment. (Posted on 23 October 2010)Build Quality Ease Of Use Style / Design Price Overall Value

Stylish but dimensions not rightStyle / Design Price Overall Value Build Quality Ease Of Use
Bought this stand but not happy with it. Basically, the stand is the right width to fit two lots of equipment on each shelf but the shelves are not deep enough.
I've got a Sony STR-DA1200ES AV receiver and it now sticks out of the front of the rack by about an 2.5cms (1 inch). The problem is that the stand doesn't allow for the fact that cables inserted into the back of a receiver have solid plugs, so you have to have at least 5cm (2 inches) space at the back of an AV receiver otherwise you'll end up bending the cables that go into the plugs and potentially damaging them or the sockets in your AV receiver.
My blu ray player, Sky HD box all sit in the rack, set back by 3 cm from the front of the shelf but my AV receiver sticks out of the receiver by 2.5 cms (1 inch) and I can't push it back any further.
Also, the four small access holes at the back are small which make putting cables into your equipment very awkward. It's good that they're small as they hid all the cables from a front view point but why didn't they think of some hinged horizontal flap for each shelf to make putting cables into your equipment easier?
