In 1985 Hoover merged with the Chicago Pacific Company which was purchased a few years later by the Marytag Corporation. The Hoover European Appliance Group was founded in 1993 which is now part of Candy S.p.A and based in Italy. Over 1,000 people are employed by the Hoover Candy Group in the UK alone and many more throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
