The Sony KDL-65HX923 is a 65 Inch 3D LED Television from Sony and provides the ultimate in true home cinema with uncompromising picture quality in a stunning monolithic design. This is an ultra slim television utilising Full back-lit LED technology providing the best 2D and 3D pictures available on the market.

The Sony KDL-65HX923 builds on the success of the previous generation of televisions and introduces numerous of new technologies and enhancements. This 65 Inch 3D LED Television utilises Active 3D Technology, whereby the Active 3D Glasses (Two pairs included) do the magic to allow you to view the images displayed on screen in 3D. Sony Active 3D Glasses operate wirelessly from the 3D LED TV and display one Full HD 1080p image per eye to give a Full HD 3D experience. The glasses are stylish, comfortable and are now re-chargeable meaning that you no longer need to replace batteries after a few dozen films. The Glasses are provided in two form factors, Larger (TDG-BR200) and Smaller (TDG-BR250) which are intended for us with Adults and Children respectively. Furthermore the glasses now feature a quick charge mode that allows the units to last for 3 Hours after just 3 minutes of charging or 30 Hours use on a 45 minute full charge.

Among the new technological advancements with the Sony KDL-65HX923 is Intelligent Peak LED and Motionflow XR800. Intelligent Peak LED is Sony's name for its local dimming technology which splits the full array of LED lights into quadrants which are independently dimmed to provide a deeper blacks and fuller whites. Furthermore this television features Motionflow XR800 which a true 400 Hz motion refresh rate with some enhancements. Video is made up of a series of still images which differ slightly and displayed quickly to give the sense of motion. With standard television broadcasts in the UK, 50 frames/images are displayed per second to create the video content being displayed. With the dawn of digital television, these 50 frames have produced numerous of inherent issues namely with pixelation and motion dragging. The Sony KDL-65HX923 fixes and builds upon these issues by intelligently filling in the gaps that are not sent to the television. This ultimately provides a smooth, crisp images increases the performance of the television in both 2D and 3D Modes.

The Sony KDL-65HX923 uses Sony's new dual-processing chip X-Reality Pro which not only improves the performance of 3D and High Definition but also Standard Definition and videos provided from internet services including BBC iPlayer and DemandFive.

This 3D Television from Sony also features support for Freeview HD among normal Freeview broadcasts. Freeview HD allows you to enjoy BBC One HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD & 4HD (more HD Channels available in the future) in high definition for free without the need for an external Freeview HD box or a satellite receiver.

The Sony KDL-65HX923 utilises Sony's new OptiContrast Panel which has been specifically manufactured to work in harmony with the other new technologies detailed above. This 3D LED Television is a specially constructed LCD Panel with a clear surface which reduces screen glare just allowing more light to extrude from the screen whilst reducing the light entering the screen. An OptiContrast Panel also has benefits in introducing a deeper sense of depth, even when watching moving images in 2D rather than 3D.

As with all Sony LED TVs, the Sony KDL-65HX923 Bravia Television incorporates BRAVIA Internet Video which allow you to have access to wide range of applications from interactive games to additional content including BBC iPlayer, Demand Five, Eurosport Player & Love Film. BRAVIA Internet Video now also offers Qriocity, a video on demand portal from Sony that allows you to stream your favourite and the latest movie releases straight to your Television without the need to pop out to your local movie rental store and then repeat the journey to return the discs. Qriocity also allows to watch the content you choose to watch in High Definition and access a wide range of music content that you can stream throughout your home. Sony's Internet Services; Bravia Internet Video and Qriocity can connect to your broadband internet either via Ethernet or via Wireless with the integrated WiFi module.

The Sony KDL-65HX923 allows you to make free video and voice calls right from your front room with the inclusion of Skype™ software and accessories include. A Sony USB video camera with integrated microphone is included in the box allowing you to connect to friends and family on computers, mobile devices such as the iPhone and other Skype enabled BRAVIA televisions.

The Sony KDL-65HX923 3D LED Television also features Sony's latest Eco features allowing you get maximum performance whilst using less energy than previous models. By using LED backlight the Sony HX903 Series is able to use a far significant reduction in power consumption compared to the standard CCFL backlights. This unit also features 'Intelligent Presence Sensor' which will temporarily turn of the picture to save energy when it detects no movement in the room - allowing further reduction in power usage from this Full HD 3D Television. The Sony KDL-65HX923 Television also features a 'Light Sensor' which adjusts picture output according to the room’s ambient light to save energy and reduce electricity bills.
