The Panasonic TX-P42ST30B is part of Panasonic's latest range of 3D Televisions building on the previous generation and is part of Panasonic's new Pure Line range of televisions.

The Panasonic TX-P42ST30B builds on the success of the previous generation of televisions and introduces numerous of new technologies and enhancements. This 42 Inch 3D Plasma Television utilises Active 3D Technology, whereby the Active 3D Glasses (sold separately) do the magic to allow you to view the images displayed on the screen in 3D. Anti-crosstalk technology is used with the ST30 Series of television to minimize common crosstalk issues in 3D. This done by detecting when left images are displayed on the right image and is optimised to remove this information to provide a clear 3D image.

Panasonic's Active 3D Glasses operate wirelessly from the 3D Plasma TV and display one Full HD 1080p image per eye to give a Full HD 3D experience. The glasses are stylish, comfortable and now re-chargeable meaning that you no longer need to replace batteries after a few dozen films. The glasses have been updated and now come in three form factors to suit any size of head. Large(TY-EW3D2LE), Medium(TY-EW3D2ME) and Small(TY-EW3D2SE) which are perfect for children to wear.

Panasonic's Active 3D Glasses feature high-speed shutters to prevent light leakage. Highly precise timing control for the opening and closing of the shutters minimises unwanted light leakage to enable clear 3D viewing. The remarkable beauty of the Full HD 3D images is further ensured by VIERA 3D TVs and 3D Eyewear to achieve precisely linked operation.

600Hz Intelligent Frame Creation PRO is the process of provide sharp, jitter-free pictures in Full-HD with 1080 lines of resolution. As each frame needs to be displayed for a very short length of time, Panasonic is using newly developed fast-switching phosphors to improve performance by 300%. The result is a received 50 Hz signal is improved to 100Hz and analyzed 6 times to provide a high motion rate. Furthermore with a fast switching phosphors this allows the ST30 Televisions to display a single frame image for the time required.

The Panasonic TX-P42ST30B utilises Infinite Black PRO and High Contrast Filter is the process of producing the deepest blacks and highest contrast possible on any Television. The new VIERA models, contrast and black levels have been significantly improved especially in bright surroundings. Enhancements to the panel and cells help reproduce images with smooth, natural gradation and deep, rich blacks. In movies, the true, deep blacks faithfully convey the intent of the filmmakers, adding power and realism to the viewing experience.

The Panasonic TX-P42ST30B features Panasonic's latest IPTV Portal, VIERA Connect. VIERA Connect provides access to a wide range of applications and interactive games to the television. VIERA provides applications including Eurosport, Arte.TV Catch-up service and Facebook. Connecting to the VIERA Connect portal on your ST30B Television can done via ethernet or by using a Panasonic DY-WL10 Wireless Dongle (sold separately). Furthermore aside from the usual content formats of broadcast television and Blu-Ray 3D, the Panasonic TX-P42ST30B features an integrated VIERA and 3D Image Viewers. Using the VIERA Image Viera, you can connect a SD Memory Card to display recorded HD videos from your HD or 3D cameras and enjoy your favourite moments on your widescreen tv.

The Panasonic TX-P42ST30B allows you to make free video and voice calls right from your front room with the inclusion of Skype™ software and accessories include. A Panasonic USB video camera (sold separately) with integrated microphone is included in the box allowing you to connect to friends and family on computers, mobile devices such as the iPhone and other Skype enabled VIERA televisions.
