The Sony KDL-40HX723B is a 40 Inch 3D LED Television from Sony and provides the ultimate in true home cinema with uncompromising picture quality in a stunning monolithic design. This is an ultra slim television utilising Dynamic-Edge LED technology providing the best 2D and 3D pictures available on the market.
The Sony KDL-40HX723U builds on the success of the previous generation of televisions and introduces numerous of new technologies and enhancements. This 40 Inch 3D LED Television utilises Active 3D Technology, whereby the Active 3D Glasses (sold separately) do the magic to allow you to view the images displayed on screen in 3D. Sony Active 3D Glasses operate wirelessly from the 3D LED TV and display one Full HD 1080p image per eye to give a Full HD 3D experience. The glasses are stylish, comfortable and are now re-chargeable meaning that you no longer need to replace batteries after a few dozen films. The Glasses are provided in two form factors, Larger (TDG-BR200) and Smaller (TDG-BR250) which are intended for use with Adults and Children respectively. Furthermore the glasses now feature a quick charge mode that allows the units to last for 3 Hours after just 3 minutes of charging or 30 Hours use on a 45 minute full charge.
Among the new technological advancements with the Sony KDL-40HX723BU Motionflow XR400. Motionflow XR400 is a true 200 Hz motion refresh rate with some enhancements. Video is made up of a series of still images which differ slightly and displayed quickly to give the sense of motion. With standard television broadcasts in the UK, 50 frames/images are displayed per second to create the video content being displayed. With the dawn of digital television, these 50 frames have produced numerous of inherent issues namely with pixelation and motion dragging. The Sony KDL-40HX723 fixes and builds upon these issues by intelligently filling in the gaps that are not sent to the television. This ultimately provides a smooth, crisp images increases the performance of the television in both 2D and 3D Modes.
The Sony KDL-40HX723 uses Sony's new dual-processing chip X-Reality Pro which not only improves the performance of 3D and High Definition but also Standard Definition and videos provided from internet services including BBC iPlayer and DemandFive.
This 3D Television from Sony also features support for Freeview HD among normal Freeview Digital TV broadcasts via an aerial. The Freeview HD platform allows you to enjoy BBC One HD, BBC Two HD (Previously BBC HD), ITV1 HD, 4 HD (Channel 4) and Channel 5 HD (from April 2012) without the need for an external setup box or satellite receiver.
The Sony KDL-40HX723 utilises Sony's new OptiContrast Panel which has been specifically manufactured to work in harmony with the other new technologies detailed above. This 3D LED Television is a specially constructed LCD Panel with a clear surface which reduces screen glare just allowing more light to extrude from the screen whilst reducing the light entering the screen.
